Wednesday, March 18th, 2009: Padres Catcher Out
A blow for Josh Bard today -- team doctors confirmed he will miss 2 weeks with a fractured foot. Bard suffered the injury running the bases. Although officials from the San Diego Padres are confident he'll make a full recovery, doubts will persist about Bard's ability to return fully fit this year with an injury of this nature.

Monday, September 22nd, 2008: Bad News for San Diego, Jason Isringhausen Injured
Medical officials from the San Diego Padres reported that the club's 36-year-old reliever, Jason Isringhausen, suffered a damaged meniscus (knee) in yesterday's matchup against the San Francisco Giants while throwing a pitch. Isringhausen is expected to miss 1-2 weeks of action.

To date this year Isringhausen has won 4 and lost 10 with a 2.96 ERA, 23 saves and 69 strikeouts in 52 games.

Monday, September 1st, 2008: Peavy Takes NL Top Starter Trophy
Jake Peavy was on top of the world in August, capping it off with the National League Pitcher of the Month honors. The San Diego starter was superb in 7 starts with 5 wins and 1 loss, 52 innings pitched, 62 strikeouts, and a fine 1.38 ERA.

This year Peavy has posted a 11-14 mark in 31 starts and has a 3.42 ERA.
