Tuesday, March 17th, 2009: Kinsler Will Miss 2 Months
The Rangers received bad news this morning. Ian Kinsler will miss 2 months due to herniated disc (back). In the Texas-Baltimore game he sustained the injury while making a defensive play. "I'm disappointed more than anything," he told reporters later in the day. "You can't help your team on the bench," Kinsler sighed. "I'll do the rehab work and hope for a quick recovery."

Monday, March 2nd, 2009: Texas's Teixeira Down with Injury
A blow for Mark Teixeira today -- team doctors confirmed he will miss 4 weeks with a scratched cornea. Teixeira suffered the injury being hit by a pitch. Although officials from the Texas Rangers are confident he'll make a full recovery, doubts will persist about Teixeira's ability to return fully fit this year with an injury of this nature.

Thursday, January 1st, 2009: 1B Teixeira Thrilled to Remain in Texas
Texas announced that they have signed 28-year-old first baseman Mark Teixeira to a 3-year, $39,060,000 agreement that will have him playing at Ameriquest Field in Arlington for the foreseeable future.

Looking at his all-time stats, Teixeira has a career .284 average with 1010 hits, 221 doubles, 13 triples, 209 home runs and 691 RBIs to date. He has scored 599 runs, walked 466 times and stolen 18 bases.
