Friday, March 6th, 2009: Minnesota Starting Pitcher Hurt
After injuring himself, Twins starting pitcher Kevin Slowey headed straight to the hospital. He was removed from the game as a precaution after throwing a pitch and the team's worst fears were confirmed when it turned out to be a little more serious. Slowey will miss at least 1-2 weeks with a finger blister.

Monday, December 8th, 2008: Ramirez Reaches Agreement with Minnesota
The Twins and Manny Ramirez appeared before the Minnesota media today as the two sides emerged from marathon contract talks.

Ramirez, a left fielder, is poised to make $13,560,000 over 2 years.

In his all-time stats Ramirez is hitting .306 with 2313 hits, 513 home runs, 1424 runs scored and 1643 RBIs.

Thursday, September 25th, 2008: Sweeney Injured, Out of Lineup 6 Weeks
The Minnesota Twins will have to "make do" without Ryan Sweeney for 6 weeks. He suffered a fractured wrist while making a defensive play in the game today against the Detroit Tigers. His teammates, understandably, were upset about losing the left fielder. "That's a real blow," one of them said. "But this team is resilient. We know how to deal with adversity." Sweeney will miss 6 weeks.

Thus far this year Sweeney has hit .282 with 16 home runs and 71 RBIs. He has played in 147 games and scored 84 times.
